MBC maintained the athletic aspect of NBA 2K10 by partnering with Foot Locker, an extremely popular sports minded company, found throughout malls across the country.
Foot Locker aligned with NBA 2K10 through point-of-sale items, an amazing sweepstakes, blow-in inserts, email blasts, on-line mentions, a link from the game’s website, and television and radio promotions. There is an exclusive “Special Video” made especially for Foot Locker’s in-store TV’s announcing and describing the game by 2009 NBA Finals MVP and cover athlete for NBA 2K10, Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The point-of-sale items are colorfully displayed at Foot Locker locations all-over the country that include lease lines, magnets and huge wall plaques. These items are sure to catch any sports fan eye and generate major buzz and bring even more customer awareness to the highly anticipated sports game!
The blow-in insert can be found within the actual game box. This was a tactful use of advertising by MBC as it’s one of the first items seen by game purchasers as they open the game.
